Join us and celebrate National Fitness Day

Wednesday 21st September marks National Fitness Day – a day dedicated to celebrating the role physical activity plays on our physical, mental and social wellbeing. Here at Total Fitness, we believe that everybody is better fitter, so we couldn’t pass up an opportunity to join the movement.

This year, the theme centres around how fitness unites us – bringing us together. Our goals and motivations to exercise may differ, but each time you step foot in our clubs you’ll see members of all ages and abilities working out to support a healthy lifestyle – physically, mentally, and socially.

To celebrate, we want our members to try something different and add something new into your normal gym routine – whether it’s part of your warm-up, workout, or recovery – there’s something for everyone.

THE CHALLENGE

This National Fitness Day, we challenge you to try and complete at least 4 out of 9 listed activities below in one visit to your nearest Total Fitness club:

  1. Book onto and attend a gym class
  2. Try the gym floor challenge in your club
  3. Go for a swim
  4. Warm up using one of our digital workouts
  5. Ask a PT about a piece of equipment you’re unsure of
  6. Use your free squad credit *if you haven't already
  7. Relax in Thrive after your workout
  8. Use the heat treatment facilities
  9. Take a photo of your workout and tag @TotalFitnessGym and use #FitnessUnitesUs

With so many ways of working out, it’s sometimes easier to stick to what you know, but in today's fast-paced environment it’s in our nature to get bored easily. Make the most of the facilities and join the community, on the most active day of the year. Break down those barriers to something you’ve always wanted to try.

Don’t forget about our free gym pass too, whether you want to bring a friend or family member as a potential gym buddy, or as a form of moral support to try something new. Fitness doesn’t have to be boring... Keep an eye on our social media channels Facebook and Instagram throughout the day to see our members in action. Tag @totalfitnessgym in your posts for a chance to feature on our page. We can’t wait to see which activities you try, and how many you can achieve.
