Planning a summer break that means you can keep on top of your fitness goals? Well you’re in luck here in the UK!
We’ve picked out two holiday options – one that’s best for grown-ups and one that’s best for families to keep active this summer. Which will you choose?
Cabin Fever (grown-ups)
Log House Holidays is a 130-acre nature reserve in the Cotswolds, complete with authentic Scandinavian log cabins set out in total seclusion with all the luxury features you could dream of, including a water’s edge hot tub and fire pit.
Within the grounds of this vast nature reserve, you can enjoy swimming, cycling, hiking, paddle boarding, running, kayaking and more. Whether you’re booking a fitness holiday for two or you’re bringing a group of friends, there’s eight cabins on site with the biggest sleeping up to 11 people.
The private lake has been carefully landscaped for over 33 years to provide you with the perfect place to run, walk, cycle, swim or just simply relax and take in the views. It’s a 2.5mile track which follows the edge of the lake and through wooded areas, making a great circuit to put into your fitness routine for the summer months.
You can even use the lake for some wild open water swimming – a good full body workout.
Bring or rent a bike to get some miles under your saddle as you explore the surrounding Cotswold villages, or if it’s an upper body workout you need, why not rent a kayak and start the day with a few laps of the water?
A Midweek Adventure (families)
Looking for a family fitness holiday but don't have time for a full week? How about a four-night midweek break at PGL? With seven centres dotted around the country, you’ll be spoilt for choice!
PGL breaks are all about packing in lots of different high-quality activities into your holiday to get the most out of each day. From quad biking to kayaking, zip wires to abseiling, your family will have plenty to choose from.
The itinerary is planned for you to make the most of every moment and provide a mix that has something for everyone in your family, no matter what their tastes, preferences or previous experiences.
Each activity has a family focus, whether that’s working as a team or conquering your fears together – each one promotes a sense of achievement and helps build close family bonds.
Each of the seven PGL centres has its own character and differences but all provide the perfect base for an action-packed family break. Where will you go?
