Fat weight rather than total weight is a better indication of health, and carrying excess fat around the abdominal area in particular poses a further increased health risk.
Remember - Muscle does not weigh heavier than fat. Muscle is approximately 3 times more DENSE than fat. Look at the difference between one kg of lead and one kg of feathers - they both weigh the same, but the feathers take up vast amounts more space! It is a question of Physics!
Therefore, a person could put on one pound of muscle, lose one pound of body fat - they would weigh exactly the same, but they would be slimmer! Amazing but true!
